Track and Field at Eurogames 2020

 

All Track and Field Competitions of the Eurogames 2020 in Düsseldorf will take place in the Rather Waldstadion. This sports facility was converted into a modern athletics facility in 2005 and has since been used for various tournaments. Its directly connected with the beautiful Aaper Forrest. For visitors its very comfortable to look the competitions from a roofed tribune. The area is wheelchair accessible. There are also parking lots, showers and toilettes for Handicapped. These competitions are open to all, regardless of ability!

 

Rules
The applicable rules are those of the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) and IWR.

Categories
There are 3 gender categories:
1. M1. M2. F3. A   

All Gender Welcome
Those who transition from female to male are eligible to compete in the male category without restriction.Those who transition from male to female are eligible to compete in the female category under the following conditions: The athlete has declared that her gender identity is female. The declaration cannot be changed, for sporting purposes, for a minimum of four years.The athlete must demonstrate that her total testosterone level in serum has been below 10 nmol/L for at least 12 months prior to her first competition (with the requirement for any longer period to be based on a confidential case-by-case evaluation, considering whether or not 12 months is a sufficient length of time to minimize any advantage in women’s competition).The athlete’s total testosterone level in serum must remain below 10 nmol/L throughout the period of desired eligibility to compete in the female category. Compliance with these conditions may be monitored by testing. In the event of non-compliance, the athlete’s eligibility for female competition will be suspended for 12 months.

Condition
Minimum of 3 Participants. Otherwise clearance for takeoff with the men if the Testosteron is more than 5nmol/L.

Rankings are by age group 
18-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, …

The transition from one age group to the next always takes place at the beginning of the calendar year in which the year of life determining the age group is completed.

Equipment/Own Sports
The necessary sports equipment will be provided. It is allowed to use your own sports equipment. However, these must remain in the competition until the end and must also be available to other athletes.

Access
You find the Stadion at the Wilhelm-Unger-Str. 7, 40472 Düsseldorf. It is only 2 minutes walk from Metro station „Rather Waldstadion“. Starters and visitors can use the Metro Line 72. There is a parking lot left from the Stadion. Please follow the advices from our volunteers. The space is small so its easier to take the underground tram.

Shower/Toilet/Changing Rooms
There are sufficient showers and toilets inside the Stadion. Also the changing rooms are there.

Medals
Every starter will get an participation-medal.

Winner Ceremony
There will be a presentation ceremony for the first three of each age group expected soon after the last competition.

Support/Visitors/Friends
For visitors are enough space to support the athletes inside the stadium. Please follow the signs and the advices of our volunteer helper. Inside the Stadion we will offer something to eat and drink.

Days: Thursday, 06.08.2020 - Saturday, 08.08.2020

The competitions will start every day from 10:00 to 17:00
Depending from the number of registrations, deviations may occur which will be announced in a final schedule.
