Water polo at the EuroGames 2020

Rules

The water polo tournament is played in two levels.
Planned are 8 teams in the group competitive and 8 teams in the group recreational.
Depending on the registrations in the two levels the group size can vary.
Each game lasts 2 x 10 minutes net time. Each group plays a preliminary round. There will be at least 3 guaranteed matches per team from the planned 8 teams per group.
A semi-final of the best 4 will follow. After that there will be the match for 3rd place and the final. Thus there will be a maximum of 5 matches for the best 4 teams. The above mode is valid for 8 teams in each group. If there are less registrations, the mode can be adjusted to offer more playing time to all teams.

Program

Water polo takes place on Thursday and Friday.
We plan to kick off the first game at three pm, end (final whistle) max. nine pm).

Organisation

The Düsseldorf Dolphins have taken over the leadership of the organisation. We are significantly supported by two local clubs, the VfL Benrath and the Düsseldorfer SC , which among other things has a team in the second national league.
On the side of the LGBTIQ* community, we are also gratefully supported by the Berlin Aquaholics team of Vorspiel Berlin.
